The Centre of Biotechnology carries out activities in several areas: Research & Experimentation, Education& Training, and International Cooperation. Training activities began in 1991 with the first theoretical and practical training in Experimental Microsurgery addressed to specialists of General Surgery.

Through the expertise and the know-how acquired over the years, the Centre of Biotechnology can arrange basic, advanced and tailored courses in several specialties providing an educational growing path divided in several phases: dry lab, animal lab and finally cadaver lab. The availability of these instruments has made also possible to test and to experiment new surgical techniques and to improve consequently education and training courses.
