This program focuses mainly on foreign entrepreneurs with PhD and higher degrees looking to develop their tech projects with grant funding support. This can be done through establishing employment relations with local companies as vehicles for funding distribution. The program aim to recruit global talents to contribute their technology insights and expertise to Nanjing local business academic communities

Benefits
By entering either programme a foreign talent will be eligible to receive:
- National talent grant – 2 or 4 million RMB
- Further R&D subsidy – up to 5 million RMB
- Property purchase subsidy – up to 2 million RMB
- Accommodation subsidy (flat rental) – up to 3 years
The talent grant benefits can be accessed after the talent receives a grant approval announcement and startsemployment in Nanjing, given specific requirements are met. At the moment it is not required for the applicant to relocate to China, work can be conducted remotely. At the time of grant application the talent is only required to sign a non-legally binding pre-employment agreement similar in form to a letter of intent. Following successful grant winning, the talent’s employment status has to be evidenced by signed employment contracts and local social security payments.
Eligibility
This national talent grant is designed for PhDs+ talents who have not previously worked in China. There are two categories for application:
Category A: PhDs or Professors above age 40
1. Grant amount: 4 million RMB
2. Requirements:
- PhD Degree or above (professorship is preferred)
- No previous employment in China or accessing China after January 2022
- Signing a pre-employment agreement with a local enterprise
Category B: PhDs below age 40
- PhD Degree or above, minimum 3 years of work experience
- No previous employment in China or accessing China after January 2022
- Signing a pre-employment agreement with a local enterprise
