Nanjing Overseas Collaborative Innovation Center (London, UK)2022 “Approaching Nanjing” Newport Roadshow

Located in the heart of China’s lower Yangtze River Delta, Nanjing is at the heart of the country’s high-tech revolution and is reaching out to British companies and partners. On Wednesday 30 March, the Nanjing Overseas Collaborative Innovation Centre held an event at the London headquarters of the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) to launch a new partnership project aimed at developing high-tech business links and strengthening the innovation ecosystem between the UK and Nanjing.

The event was organised by Newport Hi-tech Park and supported by the China Britain Business Council (CBBC) and the Tensen Global Technology Transfer Centre (Globaltech IP). The event was broadcast to a Chinese audience with more than 100 live and online attendees, including a live roadshow featuring eight British companies in a range of fields including healthcare, artificial intelligence development, legal services, space research, STEM education and smart city technology. The roadshow is part of the Into China — Explore New Port program, a six-month program that offers training, matching and free landing in China.

The event was addressed by Mark Hedley, Technical Director of CBBC, Kristina Rayko, Director of Globaltech IP, and Quan Wu, Director of Nanjing Xingang Hi-tech Industrial Park. The new partners of Nanjing Overseas Center include Neil Robinson, London’s Royal Albert Dock. Director), CMA (Professor Rick Chandler, President) and OKE Club (Victor Kovalets, founder) gave presentations.

The Nanjing Overseas Innovation Center Partnership and Approach China – Newport, a program was established to provide practical support to high-tech companies and organizations doing international business in China and help them navigate, collaborate and avoid common pitfalls.
