This event, as a continuation activity of the Italian Artificial Intelligence Special Event at the 2023 Nanjing International Science and Technology Cooperation and Exchange Conference, was guided by the Haiji Office of the Jiangsu Association for Science and Technology, hosted by the Jianye District Association for Science and Technology, the Administrative Committee of the Jianye High-tech Zone, and the Jianye Haiji Base in Nanjing, and organized by the Nanjing Tengsen International Technology Transfer Center. The event was organized by the Tenson International Technology Transfer Center in Nanjing and hosted by the Jianye Haiji Base. The event was attended by Lv Jiayong, Second Grade Inspector and Director of the International Department of the Jiangsu Association for Science and Technology; Zhang Zhong, Second Grade Researcher and Deputy Director of the Haiji Office of the Jiangsu Association for Science and Technology; Yuan Ting, Vice Mayor of the Jianye District and Member of the Party Group of the District Government; Qian Haijun, Member of the Party Group and Vice Chairman of the Science and Technology Association of the Jianye District of Nanjing; and Dong Chunming, Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of the Jianye Hi-Tech Zone. Gurvinder Singh Virk, Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (UK) and Professor of Robotics at the University of Leeds (UK), Lloyd Townley, Chief Scientist of Nanjing Zhiyou Technology Development Co. Bradley Morgan, Chief Commercial Officer of HaraeDx (USA), Peter Tensen, Special Expert of Hai Zhi Program of China Association for Science and Technology and CEO of GlobaltechIP, and Zhang Hao, Director of Overseas Cooperation Department of Yangtze River Delta National Technological Innovation Center, were invited to guide the projects as critics. In addition, more than 10 foreign project representatives came from afar, as well as representatives from Nanjing University of Science and Technology, Nanjing University of Information Engineering, Jiangsu Sumida Hardware, Nanjing Hanwei Public Health Research Institute, Nanjing Advanced Institute of Life and Health of CSCI, and many other local universities and institutes, technology enterprises and investment organizations.
In recent years, Nanjing has vigorously implemented the innovation-driven development strategy, accelerated the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and comprehensively empowered high-quality development, and achieved fruitful results. In Nanjing, the Jianye Haiji Base, as a gathering area for overseas talents, has made remarkable achievements in the construction of science and innovation platforms and the strengthening of key core technologies. Since the beginning of this year, Jianye has held a number of “Go Jianye in Jianye” series of Haiji activities, laying a solid foundation for the introduction and landing of high-quality overseas projects.
Lv Jiayong, second-level inspector and director of the International Department of the Jiangsu Provincial Association of Science and Technology, said in his speech that Jianye District, as the city parlor of Nanjing, is now focusing on the “ecology+industry” development model, upgrading the “Mo Chou” service and creating an optimal industrial ecology. According to Lv Jiayong, Jianye District is focusing on the development of two leading industries: finance and digital economy, with the digital economy becoming a distinctive industrial identity. It is worth mentioning that the Jianye Haiji Base has been recognized as an excellent Haiji base in Jiangsu Province for two consecutive years. “We hope that Jianye Haiji Base will take this docking meeting as an opportunity to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with overseas scientific and technological organizations, international organizations, national and provincial societies, broaden talent attraction channels, optimize the talent ecosystem, accelerate the attraction of more overseas talents to Ningbo, and strive to build a convergence area for international first-class talents. The Provincial Association for Science and Technology will, as always, support Jianye’s innovative development, deeply implement the provincial cooperation agreement, continue to import high-quality resources from national societies, overseas cooperation groups, and international scientific and technological organizations to serve Jianye’s development, set up a platform for overseas talents to come to Suzhou to develop, create conditions, and continuously contribute wisdom and strength to the modernization and construction of a new Jiangsu of ‘Stronger, Wealthier, More Beautiful, and Higher’.” Lv Jiayong said.
Dong Chunming, deputy director of the management committee of Jianye Hi-tech Zone in Nanjing, made a special presentation on Jianye Haiji Base. According to the presentation, the Jianye Haiji Base was successfully declared a provincial-level Haiji Base in 2015, and will be operated by the Jianye Hi-tech Zone as a whole from 2021 onward. Dong Chunming said that Jianye Hi-tech Zone, as the operating unit of Jianye Haiji Base, has built two Nanjing overseas collaborative innovation centers in its jurisdiction, namely Sino-German and Sino-Russian, and the park’s overseas collaborative innovation centers have won Nanjing’s excellent appraisal in 2021 and 2022, and the park has won the commendation from the Nanjing Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology in 2023, and the performance of the Jianye Haiji Base was excellent at the provincial level for two consecutive years in 2022 and 2023.
At the event, Huang Xiangyu, International Program Director of GlobalTech IP, reported on the results of the DeepTech Challenge. According to the report, since its launch in May this year, the DeepTech Challenge has successively recruited more than 50 overseas projects and talents, and organized a series of overseas missions and international exchange activities “Into Jianye” for more than 10 occasions, which involved biotechnology, medicine, green technology, intelligent manufacturing, etc. The Challenge has been held in Beijing, Shanghai and Shanghai. Since its launch in May this year, the Challenge has successively matched and recruited more than 10 overseas projects and talents, and organized a series of “Entering Jianye” overseas missions and international exchange activities, involving a number of deep science and technology fields such as biotechnology, medical care, green technology, and intelligent manufacturing.
During the roadshow, the UK Everybaby medical device project introduced its cutting-edge technology, the Russian Energy of Vacuum steam energy saving project showed its business model, the Austrian Kilobaser gene technology project focused on presenting its own development advantages, the Russian CodeCrusier low-code project and the German Schnell Lifi Russia’s CodeCrusier low-code project and Germany’s Schnell Lifi optical communication project both elaborated on their development prospects. During the meeting, the panelists and the representatives of the projects exchanged questions and answers on the technological advancement of the projects and the prospects of the Chinese market, and indicated that further in-depth communication would be carried out after the meeting.
After the roadshow session, representatives of more than 30 local technology enterprises, research institutes and investment organizations present at the conference conducted matchmaking exchanges with overseas projects to explore deep cooperation. Participating experts even conducted more in-depth dialogues with advanced deep-tech projects such as Kilobaser and Schnell Lifi.
Attracting wisdom and gathering talents, meeting in Jianye.
