Delta’s first JSQ freight train leaves Nanjing for Europe
A JSQ freight train carrying 261 Chinese commercial vehicles bound for Europe departed from Raohuamen railway yard in Nanjing on November 15.
This marked the first service of such train, specially for vehicle transport, from Yangtze River Delta although freight trains have already closely linked the region with international markets.
The freight train service uses just half of the transport time by marine shipping and the JSQ train can also improve the capacity by 74% compared with trains carrying ordinary containers, said Wei Xiandi, general manager of Jiangsu Rail Freight Supply Chain Company.
Wei said the new service will greatly reduce the transport cost for car manufactures and also improve the quality and efficiency of freight train operation from Jiangsu.
