European Chamber hosts forum, issues CSR awards in Nanjing
The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China hosted the 4th Green & Clean Forum and 9th Corporate Social Responsibility Awards Ceremony in Nanjing on November 16.
Government officials, business leaders and experts from the Department of Ecology and Environment of Jiangsu Province, BASF-YPC, Business School of Nanjing University, including Octavian Stamate, Counsellor for Climate Action and Energy, EU Delegation in China, shared best practices and exchanged ides in the fields of carbon neutrality, environmental protection and green growth from different perspectives at forum.
Data from the province’s Department of Ecology and Environment showedthe PM2.5 concentration from 2012 to 2021 in Jiangsu dropped by 54.8% while the ratio of days with good air quality increased by 22.1 percentage points to 82.4%. The good environment has become a key part of public services enhancing the people’s wellbeing in Jiangsu, with the active contributions from EU companies.
Over the years, the European Chamber has been committed to promoting the values of corporate social responsibility and its CSR Forum has been operating successfully in China for 12 years while the CSR awards marked the 9th year. The awards recognize a strategic and innovative approach to CSR and consist of different honors for multinational companies, SMEs and NGOs amid efforts to promote CSR on many fronts.
