China-Japan medical talents dialogue held in Nanjing

The China-Japan Dialogue for High-Level Medical Talents was held in Nanjing on November 18, alongside with the 10th anniversary of the Jiangsu-Japan International Cooperation Agency Project.

The events aimed to deepen the medical and health cooperation between Jiangsu and Japan, support various forms of exchanges, and pool resources to enhance the health and wellbeing of the people of both sides as this year marks the 50th anniversary of the normalization of China-Japan diplomatic ties.

Zhu Min, deputy director of the Jiangsu Health Commission, said 95 people from Jiangsu’s 35 tertiary hospitals have visited Japan for training in nearly 20 renowned institutions during the past ten years. After returning to China, such professionals have provided more than 110 new technologies and treatments that effectively improved clinical and research capabilities.

In the same period, more than 20 Japanese experts have been invited to visit Jiangsu, who brought the latest academic achievements and taught young Chinese doctors. Such efforts have promoted the development of medicine in both countries. Meanwhile, 24 hospitals in China have formed sister-hospital relationship with their counterparts in Japan.
